Frequently Asked Questions
Is Nimbus packaging recyclable?
Yes, Nimbus is committed to sustainability. Our packaging uses 90% less material than traditional cartons, and all plastic pouches and bags are made from mono materials (with recycled content where possible). This makes them highly recyclable via partners such as RecycleSmart or Reground.
Is Nimbus plant milk powder organic?
Whilst not certified organic, we only use Australian oats which cannot be sprayed with glyphosate or paraquat pre harvest (regulated by the APVMA), which is where the big residues come from in overseas markets. This makes Australian oats very popular abroad!
Is Nimbus Oat Milk gluten free?
In Australia, the Food Standards code states that ALL products containing oats must be labelled with a gluten allergen warning, so there won't be any GF oat milk here! In other countries such as the UK, US and Europe, the restrictions are not as tight and oats can be labelled GF. Oats don't contain gluten themselves, but may have come into contact with other grains during growing and processing, and they contain a protein called Avenin that some coeliacs react to....so they are not safe for everyone. Any product containing Nimbus Oat Milk as an ingredient must declare gluten as an allergen.
Is Nimbus Soy Milk gluten free?
Yes! It tests NIL for gluten.
How do I use Nimbus plant milk powders?
Just add water and shake/stir/blend! We recommend 100g per litre of milk required, but the consistency can be adjusted to suit your needs. Once added to water, we recommend letting the milk rest for the particles to fully rehydrate and the full taste and texture to develop.
Can I use the powder without mixing it with water?
Yes! Add the powder directly to smoothies, shakes, powdered tea mixes, baking mixes and more! It can also be added as a creamer to tea and coffee which is perfect for travelling, camping etc.
Does Nimbus plant milk powder require refrigeration?
No, Nimbus powders do not require refrigeration whilst still in powder form, which saves on storage costs and reduces your energy consumption. They have a long shelf life and can be stored in a cool, dry place until you’re ready to use them.
How can Nimbus help reduce food waste?
Nimbus concentrates allow you to prepare only what you need, minimizing food waste. With a longer shelf life and no need for refrigeration, you can better manage your inventory and reduce spoilage, which is a common issue with traditional plant milks.
What is the shelf life of Nimbus products?
Nimbus concentrates have a shelf life of 12 months from manufacture, and should be stored in a cool, dry place. Once opened, they should be stored in an airtight container and used within 3 months.
Does Nimbus froth?
Yes! All our milks froth, but our barista has been optimised to balance out coffee with a stronger taste and a higher alkalinity. Best frothing results are achieved with a steam wand!
Is Nimbus Oat Milk just finely ground oats?
No - and it definitely tastes very different to just oats blended with water :) Our oats are broken down with enzymes just like carton milk, and this removes any of the sliminess that is associated with homemade oat milk. It is also blended with creamy avocado oil and fortified with calcium.
